Château du Castellas (St. Bonnet de Salindrique)[edit]
Bonjour !

Hello ! (In my poor english ...)
As far as I can remember, the photo of the Mérimée base shows the castle in the state which Madame Hantat acquired it, because il had been used as a stone quarry and was reduced to ruins. From memory, she raised the curtain walls of the courtyard and the covered way, restored the towers and watchtowers, and had a new gate, the staircase and the rooms of the keep were renovated. At the first she had her private flats fitted out and furnished with locally produced antique furniture.
The room you are concerned about is in the keep (the large square tower) in which the (restored) gate that integrates the north tower. The circular building that you have spotted on the photo is the South tower which was raised during the restorations, on the right, along the access road.
I hope Mrs. Hantat is always alive and still living in her castle. You can try to get in touch with her, as she has published a small booklet of about twenty pages, which I have put away (misplaced...) somewhere in one of the libraries of the house! >br/>At your disposal. DV
- Thank you very much for your nice reply! :) I asked about that building because I found online no photo of it. It looks like an apse from an old chapel because it is oriented to the east. Many chapels in that region look like that. Also the hameau where the castle is located is called on the maps La chapelle. Best regards -- Chris06 (talk) 15:26, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
Skeldale House[edit]
A cheeky ask, but I don't suppose you'd be able to photoshop the satellite dish out of your photo? It spoils an an otherwise excellent shot. - Seasider53 (talk) 23:10, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- I uploaded a new new version. --Chris06 (talk) 09:19, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- Noicely done. - Seasider53 (talk) 11:47, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
Are you Julian P Guffogg?[edit]
I notice you recently uploaded File:Geograph-5051148-by-Julian-P-Guffogg.jpg, which is sourced to a picture uploaded to Geograph Britain and Ireland by Julian P Guffogg, but also tagged with {{Self}} and additional licences beyond the CC BY-SA 2.0 on Commons. Is this correct? Obviously if you are Julian P Guffogg then it's OK for you to multi-license your work like this, but since you're using such different names on the two sites it might be good to have a note on your user page here or your profile on Geograph confirming that you're the same person. --bjh21 (talk) 18:51, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- No, I'm not. I thought this is a picture which could be used on commons. If this was wrong the picture of course must be deleted. --Chris06 (talk) 18:58, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
