  • Fait partie de la suite des "Hommes célèbres de la Marine" commandée par Louis XVI pour l'Hôtel du ministère de la Marine à Versailles, 1780-1782. 1818 : mentionné en magasin au Louvre pouvant servir pour la "décoration des Maisons Royales".
  • Entré à Versailles, 15 septembre 1833 ;
  • mentionné, sans nom d'auteur, Aile du Nord, second étage, salles des portraits, n°141-150, dans le guide de 1837 ;
  • mentionné dans la Galerie de portraits, du côté opposé aux fenêtres (n°150), aile du nord, attiques, dans l’inventaire de 1850 ;
  • envoyé en réserve, 1er juin 1971.
